-The in-person workshops are time spent in the studio with your mentor, learning the exercises, Anatomy and Physiology, cueing, having discussions about scenarios that may come up when teaching or working with clients.
-Workshop homework, are the assignments given to do at home to enhance your learning and improve your understanding of the what we work on during the workshop.
-Self-Practice, includes all the hours spent practicing Pilates yourself by taking Mat, Reformer, and Apparatus classes.
-Class Observations, are watching other Certified Pilates Instructors teaching Pilates classes either in-person or approved online instructors. You are listening to cues and watching how they progress the class.
-Student Teaching, is teaching SSBB Pilates members and/or your friends a Pilates Reformer, Mat, or Apparatus class while being supervised by your mentor and given feedback about your teaching in order to improve your skills and be ready to teach without supervision.
-Teaching, these hours begin after you complete your student teaching hours. You may find employment (not guaranteed-most studios require full training before hiring) or teach family and friends. Teaching a variety of people will develop your eye for form and creating meaningful cues.
-Total Hours, show the total time investment for the module to be completed and for the ability to “test-out” for Mat and Comprehensive training.

After completing your Program hours and test-out process, you will be eligible to apply to take the National Pilates Teacher Certification Exam given by National Pilates Certification Program. This is a Nationally Accredited Exam by the NCCA and shows your dedication to continuing to learn with each certification renewal.
You may also choose to not become Nationally Certified, however, the employment opportunities could be limited.
